Hi Chicago,

Covid-19 is a public health crisis, and Friendly Wash is committed to doing what we can to help. Here’s the good news: Doing laundry can kill the virus! Designated as an Essential Service, Friendly Wash never stopped operating for the community, even through the "Stay At Home" order from Governor Pritzker. We believe with that privilege also comes a responsibility to do our best to keep our team, customers, and community safe.

Masks and Social Distancing

  1. Masks Required (for now). The CDC has provided guidance that vaccinated people can be indoors without masks. However, Friendly Wash is still requiring masks at this time, for a couple reasons:

    • Laundromats typically see people congregating for longer periods of time than a typical retail environment.

    • To avoid our employees or customers worrying about who is or isn’t vaccinated, masks will make everyone feel safer.

  2. Social Distancing. We don’t have any strict rules about this, but we just ask that you be respectful of others’ personal space. During busy times, please consider limiting the number of people in your family/group with you, and spending some time outside the store while your laundry is washing or drying.

Cleaning

  1. Our team has made it our number one priority to disinfect commonly used surfaces as often as we can.

  2. For drop-off orders, we follow CDC guidelines, including wearing gloves, following care labels, and using the warmest temperature those care labels allow. Also, your items are never washed or dried in the same machine with anyone else's items.

  3. Our team members earn paid sick leave, and are encouraged to stay home if they are under the weather in any way.

The Covid-19 pandemic has been a difficult time, but communities have come together to show their strength and compassion. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at friendlywash@gmail.com.

Stay well!

Friendly Wash Team
